Late July Fishing Report

We can officially say the spring/summer transition period has ended.  The conditions needed for great summer fishing are finally here. Bait is plentiful and literally everywhere, Dorado has been plentiful, the striped Marlin are abundant but, seem to have a little case of lock jaw. We’ve had a few reports of Wahoo. Some of our more experienced Spearos have had success. Also, We had a blue released last week pushing 350lbs and a few smaller in the 200lb class. Anyway, fishing is developing nicely.

July 18th Fishing Report

The Dorado are still running in the mid size range 15-25 lbs with the occasional bull pushing 40lbs. All species of snapper are available and eager to bite. There are some real trophy Cubera snapper hanging in the rocks on the seamounts. The Alamaco Jacks are still hanging around the seamounts with 50 pounders the norm. A few wahoo have been seen breezing around but not many being boated.

July 11th Fishing Report

We are currently catching Pargo, Cabrilla, Alamaco Jacks, yellowtail, Dorado, Striped Marlin and Tuna. The Striped Marlin are being caught everywhere and the Dorado scene is definitely on. Other interesting news is this week we have had a huge migration of sharks, mostly Silky’s and a few bulls move in on the seamounts.

Happy 4th of July Fishing Report

This week most of the boats came in with Multiple species of Pargo, Cabrilla, Alamaco Jacks, yellowtail, trigger fish and dorado all in the same day. We had a guest from New Orleans land a 100lb Striped Marlin on 30lb test fishing a dead sardine, released of course. One of our most frequent guest went out with his family to our little secret tuna hole and on their last drift with Capt Jose pinned a 138 lb tuna.
