Fishing Report

Fishing off Espiritu Santo Island is heating up, with dorado reaching impressive sizes of 30-35 lbs and roosterfish increasingly caught and released in larger sizes each week. Anglers are enjoying success with both sardines and artificial lures, targeting these vigorous fighters in the vibrant waters of La Paz.

Semana Santa brought a lively atmosphere to La Paz, with the weather mostly cooperating despite a brief spell of strong west winds. We’re in the heart of yellowtail season, and it’s evident as most fishing spots are bustling with activity. The deeper areas are yielding mixed sizes, while the shallows continue to produce larger models. As we look forward to calmer days, we hope the abundant catches continue.

This past week, La Paz enjoyed fantastic weather, with sunny skies and pleasant temperatures. The local surface bite was exceptional, yielding hefty yellowtail in the 25-35 pound range. Anglers also discovered roosterfish in big numbers, promising an exciting season ahead. With the busiest week of Mexican spring break upon us, we anticipate an interesting impact on the bite.
