La Paz Fishing Report / January 5th 2019

Weather & Bait

As a new year and a new decade roll in, the holiday crowds are starting to thin out as everybody leaves our little paradise to go back to their normal lives back home. Our traditional winter weather pattern is well established with 4-5 days of North winds letting up for a couple of beautiful calm days.

Most of our fishing guest are now in a holding pattern waiting for the spring return of our incredible yellowtail season. This usually starts around mid February lasting thru May. As I previously stated we will soon start sending scouts to the traditional moss back spots marking the areas where these hard fighting great tasting fish start to settle in.

The few charters that have gone out are finding such stragglers of Dorado,Tuna and stripe Marlin that refuse to leave. We haven’t seen the toothy Sierra in any numbers yet , but expect their annual migration any day.

Fish Talk

Next week we leave to start the sportsman show circuit with our first stop in Denver, Co on January 9th. We will be offering great show specials so if your in the area please stop by the BACo booth.
The following week we will be in Sacramento on the 16th.

This year will be our first full season of offering fishing charters out of San Jose Del Cabo. This new addition to our fleet and fishing area will extend our season mostly, due to lighter winds and some of the most prolific fishing grounds for winter Tuna , Wahoo and stripe Marlin. Please inquire about this new opportunity on our website or call the office for more details.

Our new 51’ Power Cat is expected to arrive February 1st. As we will be offering a wide variety of activities with her, the multi day fishing adventure on the northern yellowtail grounds should be truly epic. With 4 staterooms and plenty of outdoor areas to relax after a day of fishing on the best ground we have to offer this is something you won’t want to miss.

What's Next

The Whole team here at  BACo is looking forward to an exciting new year and incredible fishing, epic maritime adventures and the next chapter in our history. Come write this chapter with us.

Til then

Keep the faith,
