La Paz Fishing Report / April 4th 2021

Weather & Occupancy

We still have large spring break crowds especially in the Puerta Cortes resort, with spring in the air and the tourist are everywhere.
The weather is starting to turn the corner as I notice the lows are warmer and the highs are definitely warmer. At the beginning of the week, we still had a reminder that old man winter can still poke his head in and throw some stiff northerlies in are way.

The water conditions are definitely starting to change as both the temperature and clarity are improving. Bait is widely available as it has been all year.

Fish Talk

As for the fish, I don’t mean to appear lazy in writing my report but, it’s pretty much identical to last week. Yellowtail,Cabrilla and Pargo. These are all great fish for both catching and table fare, so bring your coolers.

We are seeing more sargasso grass starting to float up. As the water continues to warm the bait will start to congregate underneath it attracting the schools of Dorado that should be showing soon.
Another add is late April and May are usually excellent fishing for AmberJacks.

These brutes are normally hooked close to the rocks and run 50-70lbs. You will need your A game with these fish. My personal opinion that eat better then the yellowtail.
Anyway that’s it for the week. I expect the next couple of weeks will be very similar to this.

Please be safe
Keep the faith
