It’s almost Christmas! Fishing Report

With only two weeks to Christmas Tuna and Wahoo are what’s happening.
The Wahoo are logs this year avg 50-60 lbs. The Tuna are the real gift. As I said last week 1-2 fish per day seems to be what the tuna gods are willing to give up, but these fish are huge.
As the water continues to cool the Pargo and Cabrilla action is picking up off the rocky points and seamounts.
Inshore fishing has been steady with Sierra, assorted jacks and the Late season Dorado, which May be here all year the way things are looking.

December is here! Fishing Report

Fishing generally speaking is good but very inconsistent, both on species and count.
To say there is a big variety is a bit mis leading, although there is a lot of different species out there. The day to day catches are just pretty random.
One day you may find a school of dorado or tangle with a 50lb wahoo. Some of the local rocky drop offs are holding yellowtail or Cabrilla.

October 24th Fishing Report

Dorado are still the main targeted species. Depending on the wind direction will determine your fishing spots but they still seem to be scattered throughout the area.
Updates on the Mag bay trips: The fishing is spectacular as always with Tuna, Wahoo and giant grouper of various species. November is booked solid so we should have some great reports to salivate over the next month.

Spooktober! Fishing Report

Cabo has a lot going on this week with the Black and Blue and Bisbee tournaments. Fishing here in La Paz hasn’t changed much. Now the Dorado are back in force and seem to be getting bigger by the week. A few degrees cooler should activate the Wahoo that are hanging around the seamounts. The Spearos can see them, they are just being lazy and definitely not on the chew. We did catch a few tuna out at the bajo, but they were just little guys. Great bait for Marlin but too small to keep for eating.

October 10th! Fishing Report

We have snapper, AmberJacks, grouper and the likes hanging on the seamounts but with this water temperature their time in range is coming to an end, it’s time to change gears. Our guest are now mostly targeting Dorado which are so plentiful that it would make no sense to pass on this incredible fighting and most desirable eating fish. The striped Marlin are abundant. We’ve had a few reports of Wahoo and We have reports of tuna 60 miles South of us.

Welcome October! Fishing Report

We still have Dorado and Striped Marlin dominating the fishing action. They are plentiful and really close to home. The average size of the Dorado are starting to get much larger. October normally is the kick off of the Wahoo season. Both Blue and Black Marlin are hanging around the seamounts feeding on the Bonito and dorado that are in the area. For the most part the tuna have been a no show. A couple here and there or I saw them yesterday but they wouldn’t bite.
