La Paz Fishing Report / November 10th 2019
Wetter & Köder
Fall is definitely in the air. Nice cool mornings turning into pleasantly warm afternoons. We are seeing the winds change as well. November is the month when we notice our summer Coromuel, Southwest morning winds change to the stronger Northerlies which tend to last 3-5 days before giving us a break. This week we were pretty lucky with only a couple of days where either the port was closed or just uncomfortable days on the water.
The water is starting to green up which is normal for this time of year as the temperature cools down but the clarity is surprisingly good. During the week it’s not much of a problem but the weekends you need to get an early start as the bait suppliers are starting to find their winter work and fewer are making bait, longer lines means lost fishing time.
My personal opinion is skip the sardines and purchase 20 kilos of squid from the office and head straight to the fishing grounds. Fall is in the air, and the fish are in the water, it’s just a matter of going to the right places.

The Whale shark tours are in full swing. These gentle giants are truly spectacular and only a few minute boat ride from the marina. As Fall continues and winter approaches, more whalesharks will make their way into the bay.
Until next week,
