WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR PRIVATE SCUBA DIVING ADVENTURE?
From the moment you arrive to our BACo office at Marina Costa Baja you ́ll start your incredible diving experience with us. We will support you with high quality SCUBA and snorkel gear – BCD, regulator, mask, fins, wetsuit and weights.
We’ll leave the marina heading to our first dive site. Note: be sure to keep your eyes on the horizon, the Sea of Cortez always surprises us with incredible marine mammals’ sightings, it could be our lucky day. After our first dive, we‘ll have lunch on the boat; meanwhile one of our qualified bilingual guides will provide you with all the assistance and information you need to enjoy your trip. After your second incredible dive, we’ll take you to our las stop, the “icing on the cake”, a relaxing picnic on a beautiful pristine white sanded beach. why go to the pacific fish camp ?
We’ve been exploring the Pacific side of La Paz for a few years now, and every time we go, we discover new spots that completely blow us away. The diving here is truly world class spearfishing!
We partnered with gated Rancho La Aguja and set up camp just a couple hundred feet away from the beach we launch our boats from. We highly encourage our guests to spend a few days to really unplug from the outside world and thoroughly explore the area to fish all of our honeyholes and even premium surf breaks for those who are up for a sunset session.
To explore the rich offerings of the area, we use a 23-foot panga that we beach launch straight into the Pacific Ocean. The days are spent diving different spots that hold an incredible amount of fish — there is no shortage of top-notch dive locations or the fish that roam these waters.
We typically target pelagics like wahoo and dorado at the deeper rocks, yellowfin tuna at the banks, and monster Pargo and groupers at the many vibrant reefs in the area.
Accomodations
Accomodations at Rancho la Aguja are cozy glamping tents with comfortable cots, and all other camping gear is provided. The camp has bathrooms and showers as well as a kitchen to cook the catch of the day.
A firepit is always in order and of course, the area itself is an off grid paradise for spearos, surfers and anglers looking for the best baja experience.

why go on a magbay expedition ?
Located on the Pacific Ocean side of the Baja Peninsula, Bahía Magdalena, or Mag Bay, is one of the most legendary yet remote fisheries in North America.
This 30-mile long bay, famous as a home to the gray whale during its southern migration, is formed by two sandy barrier islands named Isla Magdalena/Isla Margarita and provides incredible inshore and offshore light-tackle fishing.
Targeted species include Striped Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado (Mahi), Yellowtail, Wahoo, Grouper, Snapper, Snook and more. Most meals are comprised of the fresh fish caught by the group.
To explore the rich waters of Magbay we use a 28′ Parker XL Boat, as well as the option to upgrade to a 31′ Oceanmaster.
Accomodations
Traditionally accessible only by private yacht or costly 8-plus day long range trips out of San Diego, CA, our exclusive island-based package gives our customers full access to all that Mag Bay has to offer!
Lodging at Magdalena Island consists of a three room/three bath main guest house with an additional three bed/full bath cottage and a large outdoor palapa kitchen and dining area. The palapa is the main hangout and provides beautiful views of the bay while guests dine on fresh seafood and Mexican cuisine prepared by our cook.
