Finally Summer Fishing Conditions

La Paz Fishing Report / August 7th 2020

It really looked like we are starting to transition into our summer fishing. It’s late but better late then never. We are still pulling a few yellowtail, AmberJack and Pargo off the rocks but the numbers have declined significantly. These are spring early summer fish and should be gone by now. These fish are now being replaced with Wahoo, Dorado and reports of Yellowfin tuna. These fish are migrating North getting closer to our fishing grounds by the day.

Striped Marlin are widely available just off the north end of Cerralvo as well as the seamounts. Large schools of chihuil and flying fish are holding over the areas with structure. This along with better water should setup optimal conditions to hold the Pelagic’s for the remainder of the season.

One of our Spearo guest shot a real nice 40 lb wahoo this week while spotting what he described the largest wahoo he’s ever seen, estimated at over 100lbs. Super exciting.

That pretty much wraps up the week. We have a little wind forecasted for mid week, hopefully this won’t limit our days on water. Otherwise looking forward to a great week of fishing.
Until then
