Informe de pesca en La Paz
14th - 21st April 2024
The action off the coast of Espiritu Santo Island continues to intensify with dorado in the impressive 30-35 lb class increasingly making their appearance, alongside roosterfish that are being caught and released in ever-larger sizes each week—a call to arms for avid fly fishers. Both dorado and roosterfish are responding well to sardines and artificial lures.
Yellowtail, with their varied sizes, are showing a strong preference for jigs this week, indiscriminately attacking any type, brand, or shape. Additionally, some nice amberjack have begun to appear, marking their usual seasonal return, much to the delight of anglers seeking a challenging fight.
Surface water temperatures are holding steady at 73°F, with air temperatures starting at a brisk 50°F and climbing to nearly 90°F, heralding the approach of warmer days and milder winds as summer draws near.
We anticipate an extraordinary dorado season, with signs pointing to prolific catches. Amid this promising outlook, Jason Ditter from Park City, Utah, returned to our waters this week and experienced some of the best fishing La Paz has to offer.
