Yellowtail and Cabrilla are definitely the main attraction.
The Cabrilla are still mixed in with the yellowtail as well as an occasional snapper and AmberJack.

Overall fishing for the spring species which includes yellowtail, Cabrilla, Pargo and AmberJacks has been very good. The yellowtail are schooled up nicely just about everywhere there is bottom structure.
Ending Winter Fishing Report Leer Más "
This weekend at El Bajo which looked more like a boat show then a fishing spot was coughing up limits of yellowtail, cabrilla and Cubera snapper with some boats back by lunch time.
February is gone Fishing Report Leer Más "
The fish being caught are mostly above avg size with a number of mossbacks in the 40lb range.
We had a charter this week that hooked 15 fish landing 7. Ugh.
The Cabrilla are just starting to make a show.
There’s not much to report offshore. The occasional Dorado or tuna are being caught but, not enough to chase.
Valentine’s Fishing Report Leer Más "
The Dorado are still the main event with the largest concentration in the San Juan area around the buoys. Most days limiting out early is not a problem. it’s been a bit of a scratch for most pelagic species. There has been some limited activity around Punta Norte for Wahoo. Nothing crazy.

The Dorado once again seem to be the most cooperative. A little further out on the seamounts big Cubera snapper are on the chew. Further offshore the stripe Marlin are on track. They seem to be hanging in small pods of 3-5 fish so doubling up is not uncommon. Most of the Marlin are released to fight another day.I hate to say the tuna have been a disappointment so far this year. There’s been some reports of Wahoo on the south end of Cerralvo.

The waters are stacked with 20-40lb Dorado. Further off shore around the seamounts schools of Striped Marlin are thick and on the chew. 3-5 fish per boat is not uncommon. Of course most of these fish are released so no harm there. Trolling small and medium size lures in darker colors are getting hammered. We had some clients actually pulling lure away from Marlin in pursuit of their lures.
Bottom fishing on the seamounts for giant Cubera snapper is a great way to end your day as well as fill your cooler. Fish to 50lbs are coming in almost daily.
Goodbye July! Fishing Report Leer Más "
The daily catch rate is definitely stabilizing as the water temperatures are normalizing and clearing up.
The Dorado are the main story. Although these fish are mixed in size they are predominantly large ranging from 25-45 lbs.
With that said most other species striped Marlin, Sailfish, are all on the chew. Trolling medium size plastics or site fishing for tailing fish and pitching a live Mack will do the trick.
July 17th! Fishing Report Leer Más "
One day fishing is great for Dorado and striped Marlin only to be skunked the next. By weeks end we were back catching limits of yellowtail and AmberJacks on the rocky spots 20 minutes outside the marina. These are spring time fish. Crazy times.
July is here! Fishing Report Leer Más "
Yellowtail and quality size AmberJacks are still the main targets, yes even as we approach July. Cabrilla and most varieties of Pargo as well.
